Recent ferry accidents on Sydney Harbour:



2009

April 6 - The Lady Northcott, the oldest ferry in service, with about 200 people on
board, overshoots Taronga Zoo wharf and becomes stuck on rocks. No injuries.



2008

November 23 - The Lady Northcott runs up the stern of the Friendship as it was berthing,
ramming the nose of the ferry into the wharf. No injuries.



2007

March 28 - HarbourCat Pam Burridge collides with private boat under Sydney Harbour
Bridge off Dawes Point. Four people killed.



March 22 - First Fleet Class ferry Sirius suffers technical fault and fails to stop
in Darling Harbour, colliding with a cruise ship. No injuries.



January 5 - RiverCat Dawn Fraser runs into a small fishing boat off Dawes Point, injuring
a fisherman and sending his son into shock. Fisherman dies eight days later.



2006

December 6 - Manly ferry Collaroy collides with a yacht, forcing two people to dive
into the water near Georges Head. No injuries.



September 23 - RiverCat Evonne Goolagong, carrying 115 passengers, collides with a
small sailing boat near Cockatoo Island, injuring two sailors.



January 11 - Off-duty RiverCat Betty Cuthbert runs into a moored yacht and motor launch
after losing engine power on the Parramatta River near Hunters Hill. No injuries.



2005

September 23 - RiverCat Betty Cuthbert runs into Circular Quay. No passengers on board.



September 19 - Manly ferry Collaroy again runs into Circular Quay, with a report finding
no one was at the helm at the time. Two suffer minor injuries, 200 passengers on board.

Sydney Ferries head steps down after drug and alcohol tests following the crash are bungled.



May 26 - Manly ferry Narrabeen crashes into Circular Quay. Two passengers suffer minor injuries.



March 4 - Manly ferry Collaroy ploughs into Circular Quay after its control system
fails. No injuries.



January 17 - Manly ferry Queenscliff runs into a yacht off Bradleys Head. No injuries.



2004

May 12 - SuperCat Louise Sauvage crashes into Rose Bay Wharf after its steering system
fails, injuring two passengers.



April 28 - SuperCat Mary MacKillop hits Kirribilli Wharf, forcing its closure for repair.



April 15 - RiverCat Betty Cuthbert collides with RiverCat Nicole Stevenson at Circular
Quay. Female passenger injured.
